Just saw the newest 1.1 version. Nice. Good game. Looking forward to the mentioned "Light Cycles Deluxe" now. Support for 4-player-adapter, or in other words, a four player simultan mode, could be nice, for the DX version. And a bit stronger cpu-opponents would be great too.

By the way, a fix name would also be good, because at the moment nobody can be sure, if the name of the game now is "Light Cycle Duel" (the name in the game itself) or "C64 Light Cycles" (the title on this page here) or simply just "Light Cycles"? For the recognition-value, of exactly this C64 version here, you should decide on one name, which is used everywhere then. Just a suggestion of course, but i think, it would make sense. Especially, if people search for the game on the internet, at some point later.

Thanks for the tip about the game name! I'll straighten that out.

The Deluxe version should be out in a month or so.  That one will have 4-player simultaneous play with userport adapter, and multiple simultaneous bot opponents, which does increase the difficulty and fun!  You can even set all players to bots and watch them battle it out.

Wow, sounds really great! Looking forward to this DX-version now.

Good game, thank you. This would be really fun with two players, have to try someday. I also added it to my October games video.

I've now played the game in more detail, against the cpu-opponent and it's definitely fun. Good work! In my eyes, the computer-opponent could play a bit stronger, because I now regularly beat him, even on the "hard" setting. Maybe in a future v1.1, a “superhard” mode can be added, that would be nice for experienced players.

And a second suggestion. For sure, the most players will use a controller for the game (joystick/gamepad), so it would probably make sense, to leave the setting "joystick" by deafult, in the game-menue for "F7 controls". If anyone wants to play with the keyboard, they can change it there, but as the default-setting, always this should be set in the menue, what the most people will use.

Overall, nice game.

Appreciate the feedback!  Good suggestion make joystick controls the default, I'll probably do that for the next release

Nice, that you already changed this in V1.0a, now i hope for a really strong cpu-opponent in v1.1.

And I asked myself, how a play-mode with three lightcycles at the same time could work? Two human players and the cpu-player too, all against each other. Maybe for future versions of the game, this could be a fun? What you think?

I like your suggestion for a higher difficulty too. Will look into it, at some point.  If you want more challenge from the game, see if you can find the easter egg! :D

Haven't found the easter egg so far. Can you give a hint? :-)

Try running Sark into the game screen's border, after you've gotten at least one point in a game.  Ironically, I find this is easiest on the Hard difficulty.

Will try this out. Thanks for the tip.

Another lightcycle game. Had a go for like, 5 minutes - seems ok. 6/10 from me.

Works on NTSC and is quite fun, the light cycle taking 3 vertical squares is a bit daunting but otherwise quite enjoyable. Looking forward to the finished version

Thanks for the feedback!  The bikes are 2 characters, but it takes 3 character positions to animate them.  Are you seeing an issue?  The release version will be out soon, I'm  just making final tweaks.
